International Women’s Day (8 March) is a day for us to join voices with people around the world and shout our message for equal rights loud and clear: “Women’s rights are human rights!”
We celebrate all women, in all their diversities. We embrace their facets and intersections of faith, race, ethnicity, gender or sexual identity, or disability. We celebrate those who came before us, those who stand beside us now, and those who will come after.
It’s a time to celebrate the achievements of women, whether social, political, economic or cultural.
On International Women’s Day we remember that as long as one woman faces discrimination, harassment, inequality or oppression, we all do.
Because sometimes we need to remember we’re not alone. IWD is a great way to get re-inspired or re-energised, or to remind ourselves there are millions of women out there standing with us, and we’re all facing – and winning – the same battles.

A challenged world is an alert world. Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day.
We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
From challenge comes change, so let’s all choose to challenge.
Individuals and organizations are invited to post #ChooseToChallenge images and share images from around the world in the lead up to International Women’s Day 2021.
So strike the #ChooseToChallenge pose with your hand high to show your commitment to choose to challenge inequality, call out bias, question stereotypes, and help forge an inclusive world.
It is possible that violent conflict can be prevented, and peace built, one person at a time. Each of us can, and must, play our part in making violent conflict, poverty and gender inequality something of the past.
Individually, we’re all responsible for our own thoughts and actions – all day, every day. We can actively choose to challenge stereotypes, fight bias, broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate women’s achievements.
As we work together as peacebuilders around the world, we aim to encourage everyone to play their part in creating more equal and inclusive communities.
Each of us can, and must, play our part in making violent conflict, poverty and gender inequality something of the past. Collectively, each one of us can help create change.
Let’s all #ChooseToChallenge, as we celebrate women’s achievements and increasing visibility, while calling out inequality, is key.
It takes all of us, working in collaboration and across that which sometimes divides us, breaking down stereotypes and gendered roles to create a world where women and girls everywhere have equal rights and opportunities.
Consider, reflect, and celebrate the acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.

Open your hand … your heart … your mind … your spirit. Release what has held you back, what you have chosen to be bound by. You are free!

In Trust, you spark the light of your inner Be-ing, and give your spirit permission to shine through!
