Our theme for International Women’s Day 2018 is “Leave no woman behind”, examining the vital role that women play in humanitarian and planning and response. Women play in risk reduction, rebuilding, rehabilitation and peace processes.
Women’s knowledge and expertise as leaders, can help protect and empower women and girls so that they can survive and thrive.
All around the world, International Women’s Day represents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women.
It’s a time to reflect, and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities.
